Aluminum-Foil Adhesive Gel Medical Electrodes

• Novel electrodes designed for bioimpedance applications that require multi-site probing using a mobile stylus

• These electrodes are intended as an operator aid and as a means of improving measurement repeatibility compared to existing mobile stylus arrangements

• Although material components of the electrodes are of high quality – the Al foil is FDA Food-Grade compliant & the adhesive gel is the same as that used for FDA-approved medical electrodes – the electrodes are presently only intended for investigational & experimental use and have yet to be submitted for regulatory approval

• Use of a stylus with gold-plated tip is recommended for contacting these Al foil electrodes to ensure minimal contact impedance

• The standard electrode diameter is 8 mm. Special orders of smaller or larger diameter Al foil electrodes can be arranged if requested numbers are sufficient.

Use of plastic carrier strips for accurately placing adhesive aluminum foil electrodes on selected skin sites:

Step 1. Prepare a carrier strip having adhesive foil electrodes

Step 2. Slide a foil electrode laterally until it partially protrudes over the nearby semicircular cutout section

Step 3. Position adhesive underside of exposed foil electrode on selected skin site

Step 4. Press down on electrode and gently slide carrier strip away from electrode. This leaves the adhesive foil electrode positioned correctly on the selected skin site.
